Our Mission

The aims of the network will evolve over time in accordance with the needs of our members as represented by the steering committee. Our current focus is to:

• Raise the profile and accessibility of mentoring within our community through a number of campaigns

• Provide a nationwide BGN mentoring directory & communication hub

• Promote the Mentoring services provided by our members & partners

• Host Career & Mentoring Fairs for our members

• Conduct mentoring Benchmark studies in support of our initiatives

• Fundraise on behalf of the network and our members

• Host & facilitate Mentoring Forums, Events, Summits & Awards

• Launch a Digital Mentoring & Workshop Facility covering STEM-based disciplines.

All our member organisations are listed on our online platforms and advertised on our social media channels together with events that they are organising. We host an annual Mentoring Summit & Awards ceremony highlighting the outstanding work our mentoring organisations provide.  We partner with EventGOers Awards & Event company to offer a premium events service to our members. Members will also be encouraged to make use of our Events Community & Forum interface and participate in our speed mentoring events. We are planning a Global Mentoring Summit with participants from all around the world.

All Members will be able to participate in mentoring forums and events through links on our website. We plan to have mentoring forum meetings to discuss initiatives and mentoring topics.  Events can be staged and/or promoted through our partner technology EventGOers which has the following capabilities:

• Event Planning & Management App

• Webinar Platform with forum or workshop facility

• Events Community & Promotions Interface

• Integration with Fundraising solutions

Events may also be open to the community subject to availability.

Sure, mentoring fairs are similar to career fairs but are focused on organisations that incorporate mentoring programs within their HR development processes. Numerous studies have shown that most students or employees prefer to work for companies with DEI mentoring programs in place, so these companies will be featured. 

Mentoring companies will have the opportunity to be featured at fairs presenting their mentoring processes to potential mentees.

There is insufficient demographic data available on the deployment of mentoring in our community. We do know however that very little mentoring is provided for the young, unemployed, or misguided members of our community. Underrepresentation of our community in STEM subjects is also a key concern of ours. Benchmarking our members will enable us to build a more accurate picture, perform a gap analysis, and launch initiatives to address any gaps or failings.

Our community is poorly represented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) subjects.  Digital workshops will provide opportunities for mentees or interested members of the community to gain knowledge and experience of STEM professions or technologies through digital or in-person workshops, industry secondments, or tech initiatives delivered within our network.  

Yes, we have some expertise in grant funding through our collaboration with Charity Excellence Framework and funders such as the National lottery.  We have also commissioned the Eventgoers events platform to support fundraising activities for the network and its members.

There are NO charges for mentors, mentees, or associates to join our network. 

There may be a charge to attend the celebratory events or gala's to cover staging and administration costs. Members interested in deploying EventGOers Technology or services for mentoring events or fundraising will be entitled to a discount.
